Fellowship Programs for Graduate Study

The following fellowship programs for graduate study are examples of programs that may be appropriate for graduate study in the Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University.

Federally-funded fellowship programs:

Association-funded fellowship programs:

  • American Association of University Women American Fellowships Support for women doctoral candidates completing dissertations or scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave from accredited institutions.
    Application deadline: mid November.
  • American Association of University Women International Fellowship Awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported. Several of fellowships are available for study outside of the U.S.
    Application deadline: early December.
  • United Soybean Board Fellowships promote graduate education in plant sciences with an emphasis on soybeans. The fellowship provides a $25,000 annual stipend for up to four years of graduate school.
    Applications are due March 27; Reference letters are due April 3.
